Comparative analysis of pelvic girdle muscles and body muscles activation during walking in different types of shoes and barefoot

Title: Comparative analysis of pelvic girdle muscles and body muscles activation during walking in different types of shoes and barefoot Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to compare EMG signal chosen muscles of pelvis girdle and trunk while walking barefoot, shod in barefoot shoes or in conventional sport shoes. Methods: In our research there were 9 healthy participants who are used to walking in barefoot shoes attending. Using surface electrodes, the EMG activity of 5 muscles was recorded. The observed movement was walking on grass in conventional shoes, in barefoot shoes and barefoot. The data obtained from the experiment were imported and statistically processed in the MS Excel program with the XLSTAT software installed and in the Jamovi statistical program. ANOVA and unpaired t- test were used for statistical data analysis. Results: Data from the statistical comparison revealed a significant statistical difference in 75 % comparison of maximal muscle activity between walking in conventional sport shoes, barefoot shoes and barefoot in measurement of differences in one subject in all chosen muscles. Title: The view of specialised literature on barefoot running and running in traditional shoes (comparative literature review) Objectives: The main objective of the presented thesis was to find, read and categorise available Czech and especially foreign literature about the barefoot running topic. Other objective was to create a systematic comparative review of reclaimed information, in which the opinions of authors are compared. Due to formulated objectives, the following task of the thesis was defined. To offer readers a systematic review and describe the presented topic. Methods: The presented bachelor thesis is a comparative literature review, especially foreign- language literature. The keywords were first stated in the English language. After that, they were used for searching for information in science databases. Similarly, the keywords were stated and used for searching information in the Czech language. Due to the systematisation of the terms, it was necessary to gain enough information about the presented topic, which were categorised in the pre-determined chapters. Results: The presented literature review was created from 29 foreign science studies and 11 book publications (5 of them were Czech authors). Title: The influence of running shoes on leg and pelvis kinematics during the stance phase of run Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to detect whether there exists a connection between the type of shoes used and changes in pelvis and legs kinematics in sagittal plane while running. Methology: For a purpose of the thesis research 12 active sportsmen (6 men and 6 women) participated in lab tests. Each of them was running on a tread mill for three time sequences - each counting 20 seconds - with changes in conditions applied as follows: barefoot run, minimalistic shod run, classic shod run. The 3D analysis was analysed using the Qualisys system (200 Hz). Data analytics was executed using the Qualisys Track Manager programme, where a comparative method was applied. Further statistical procedures ANOVA a Tukey test were performed in a programme called OriginPro 8. Key findings: The executed lab tests proved influence of running shoes on legs and pelvis kinematics during a stance phase of run. The main changes in kinematics were found in an ancle during touchdown, where the angle significantly increased while running barefoot rather than classic shod running. Influence of defferent kinds of running shoes on stability and risk of injury in long - distance runners

The main problems concerning birth of running injuries is their unclear ethiopathogenesis and high frequency. Injuries are often lined with forces affected on tread-down which have to be defused by running shoes. There are also opinions that currently used footwear can cause injuries on the contrary. This work explores impact of particular types of running shoes for influencing of stability. Methods: There are compared two groups of runners: minimalists and classic runners. Their stability is examined with help of posturography in three versions: barefoot, classic and minimalistic footwear. Thereafter there is analyzed relation among stability, used footwear, training usage and frequency of injuries. Results: Minimalists and classic runners have the same stability while they are barefoot. Usage of footwear does not cause significant deterioration of stability in any of groups. Nevertheless most of runners subjectively evaluate the variant of testing barefoot as the simplest. There is more frequent occurence of flat foot among classic runners in comparison with minimalists. Flat foot increases risk of formation injuries, on the contrary, regular compensation motion activity decreases this risk.

Title: The difference in kinematic and kinetic parameters of running using running shoes, barefoot and shod Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the kinematic and kinetic parameters of running using different types of shoes. We tested a sample of four probands aged 20-25 years male. Using applied clusters, we examined the differences in individual runs. Methods: The experiment was attended by 4 runners (men only) who completed a monitored run on a 3D running ergometer at several speeds. A CODA Motion System 3D kinematic analyzer with the appropriate ODIN software was used to evaluate the kinematic parameters, and a 3D running ergometer with implemented power plates and h / p cosmos designed software was used to evaluate the kinetic parameters. The measurements were one-time. The obtained data were processed in Microsoft Excel 2019, where the tables used in this work were created. Results: All subjects demonstrated an immediate change in technique during the transition from running shoes to minimalist shoes and then barefoot. The most significant changes took place in the tread angle, the ankle angle, the cadence of the steps and the force produced by the impact. The effect of minimalistic shoes on foot kinesiology

The diploma thesis deals with the possible influence of barefoot (or minimalist) shoes on the kinesiological parameters of gait and possible changes in the stability of gait and standing. The theoretical section briefly describes the anatomy of the human foot, foot arches, foot movements and the gait kinesiology. The next chapter deals with the issue of walking in barefoot shoes and explaining the basic parameters of barefoot shoes. The theoretical section concludes with a summary of the results of studies already conducted on this issue. In the practical part, we did our own research on selected gait and standing parameters, which can be affected by changing the shoe type. Participants switched to a period of approximately six months from wearing conventional shoes to barefoot shoes, and the measurements were taken twice, before and after adaptation to barefoot shoes. To objectify the results, the same measurements were taken in a control group that did not change shoes.
